Dear Ms. Paros,
Where did you get the characters? Why did you choose to put color on the outside but not the inside? Your book is full of wonderful publishing! You made a wonderful book! What is the next story called? I like the part when Violet found the dog. I love the book you made.

From,
Hannah

Dear Hannah,
Thank you so much! The outside of the book has color because the publishing house (where it was produced) and I thought it would look better and draw more attention in color. The inside pictures are in black and white because there are so many of them and it would cost a lot to print them all in color.

I made up the characters, but they are also based on people I know and myself. Violet is based on me in part and a little on my oldest son. Magnolia Greene Gold was inspired by a childhood friend of mine. The Dog comes completely from imagination (I've never had a dog) , and I used the feeling I have remembering my grandmother's house to create The Grand House.

I'm so glad you enjoyed the book! Thanks for writing.

Jennifer

Dear Ms. Paros,
I like your pictures. Why are they little? What was your first book called? My favorite page was when she packed her bag because it was funny. Is the next book another story called Violet Bing?

From,
Owen Royality-Lindman

Dear Owen,
The picures are little because I tend to like to make small drawings and also because they fit the format (size and shape) of the book better that way. VIOLET BING AND THE GRAND HOUSE is my first book - the first book I've had published. I've written other stories that were not pubished. One was called: JENNIFER AND THE WAVE and another was called THE I ADORE YOU BOOK. The next book will not be called, "Violet Bing" but it will have Violet in it. I'm glad you like the pictures and thank you for writing and telling me your favorite part!

Dear Ms. Paros,
I like the book because the book was fun for the teacher to read to the kids. The dog hides from Violet. Keep writing books.

From,
Cameron

*Dear Cameron,
I appreciate you encouraging me to keep writing books. I will keep writing and I hope you to keep doing what it is that you like most!

Thank you for writing.

Dear Ms. Paros,
I love your book. . . . You are a very good writer. I want to hear another one. I like the secret part. I like the dog too he is cute. The grand house is big. It was a good book.

From,
Keegan

*Dear Keegan,
Thank you. I'm excited that you'd like to hear another story; I 'd really like to write another one too. I hope you write your own stories as well. Did you know that in earlier versions of VIOLET BING, the Dog once stood on his hind legs like a person and could do some things (like writing) that people do? I will try to include some pictures of him like this on the blog.

Thanks for writing!

Dear Ms. Paros,
I loved your pictures! You draw very good carpet bags! Violet was so funny. . . . What will the name of the next book be? Who will it be about? When will it be ready? Can we borrow the next book? Will it be another one about a secret passage?

Sincerely,
Samantha Tyrrell

*Dear Samantha,
Thank you! I have just started writing the next book and I'm not sure I want to announce the title (It might change!) but I can tell you it will be about Violet and the Dog but mainly Magnolia Greene Gold. It won't be ready for a while; I still have a lot of writing and drawing to do and then it has to get published. But when it comes out, I would love it if you borrowed it from the library or bought it! It probably won't have the secret passage in it, but then, you never know. . . .

Thanks again.

Dear Ms. Paros,
I like your book. Make another book. You are cool! I love the part when Violet threw her shoes. Why is the book black and white?

From,
Brendan Madira

*Dear Brendan,
You're cool too! I also like the part when she throws her shoes. The book is in black and white because there are so many drawings. It's less expensive to print a book with black and white pictures than color.

Thanks for writing!
